An online personality — Hasan Piker (https://www.twitch.tv/hasanabi) — has been accused of repeatedly using a shock collar on their dog during live broadcasts. Although Hasan denies these claims, there is documented evidence and contradictory statements made by Hasan themselves that raise serious concerns.Even if the allegations involving the shock collar are somehow false, what remains undeniable is this:Hasan has routinely forced the dog to sit motionless for hours on stream as a prop — yelling when the animal attempts to move or seek comfort.This behavior is, in itself, a form of cruelty and neglect. Dogs are not set pieces. They are living beings who deserve dignity, movement, and care.
The Silence from Twitch.TV
Despite mounting public concern, Twitch, has issued no public statement, taken no visible action, and continues to allow Hasan to broadcast as normal.This lack of accountability stands in stark contrast to the Twitch's history of banning others for lesser offenses. In the past, individuals affiliated with the same platform have faced swift and permanent bans for far milder instances of animal mistreatment.So we ask plainly:Why is this case being treated differently?
